🚀 Getting Started

LionSEO is a complete WordPress SEO solution designed to help you optimize your website for search engines. Built by LionWP, it combines ease of use with powerful functionality.

📦 Installation

Method 1: Upload via WordPress Admin

1. Download the lion-seo.zip file from LionWP.com
2. Go to Plugins → Add New in your WordPress admin
3. Click Upload Plugin at the top
4. Select the ZIP file and click Install Now
5. Click Activate after installation completes
6. Follow the automatic Setup Wizard

Method 2: FTP Upload

1. Extract the ZIP file on your computer
2. Connect to your server via FTP
3. Upload the lion-seo folder to /wp-content/plugins/
4. Activate the plugin in WordPress admin

🧙 Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard runs automatically on first activation and guides you through:

1. Site Information - Choose your site type and title separator
2. Basic SEO - Enable core features
3. XML Sitemap - Configure sitemap settings
4. Google Search Console - Add verification code
5. Premium Features - Unlock advanced functionality (if licensed)

Re-run Setup Wizard

To re-run the Setup Wizard at any time:

1. Go to LionSEO → Dashboard
2. Click "Run Setup Wizard Again"

📝 Titles & Meta Descriptions

Configure SEO titles and meta descriptions at LionSEO → Titles & Meta.

Template Variables

Use these variables in your title templates:

• {title} - Post/page title
• {sitename} - Your site name
• {separator} - Title separator (e.g., | or -)
• {category} - Primary category
• {author} - Author name
• {date} - Publication date

Example Templates

Post Title: {title} {separator} {sitename}
Category: {category} Archives {separator} {sitename}
Author: Articles by {author} {separator} {sitename}

🗺️ XML Sitemap

LionSEO automatically generates an XML sitemap for your site.

Sitemap URL

Your sitemap is available at:

https://yoursite.com/sitemap.xml

Configuration

Navigate to LionSEO → Sitemap to:

• Enable/disable post types in sitemap
• Enable/disable taxonomies
• Set update frequency
• Set priority levels
• Exclude specific posts/pages

📱 Social Media (Open Graph)

Configure social sharing settings at LionSEO → Social.

Open Graph Settings

• Default Image - Fallback image for posts without featured images
• Facebook App ID - For Facebook Insights
• Twitter Username - Your @handle
• Twitter Card Type - Summary or Large Image

🔑 License Activation

To activate your premium license:

1. Purchase a license from our pricing page
2. Check your email for the license key
3. Go to LionSEO → License
4. Enter your license key
5. Click Activate License

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Will LionSEO conflict with other SEO plugins?

We recommend using only one SEO plugin at a time. Deactivate other SEO plugins (like Yoast or Rank Math) before activating LionSEO.

How do I migrate from another SEO plugin?

LionSEO can import settings from Yoast SEO and Rank Math. Go to LionSEO → Tools → Import.

Does LionSEO work with page builders?

Yes! LionSEO works with Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, and all major page builders.

How often is the sitemap updated?

The sitemap is automatically updated whenever you publish or update content.

Can I exclude pages from the sitemap?

Yes! In the post editor, go to the Advanced tab and check "Exclude from sitemap".
